This is system is part of IFTM sodium testing at Engineering Hall – III in LCTR loop of FRTG, IGCAR. The operation of Argon heating and cooling system is at 200º C for heating the IFTM parts to 150º C and at 45º C for cooling the IFTM seals. The argon heating system is used to heat the IFTM parts by recirculation of hot argon at 200ºC which ensures no solid sodium is present on the rails of the Rotatable Shield Leg (RSL) and shaft of the chain sprocket. The argon cooling system is used to cool the components like inflatable seal, seal of the sprocket shaft to a temperature of less than 45º C.
